New Clout Poll Shows Toss-up in GOP Race for VA CD7 Nomination

JUNE 2, 2022 – A new Clout Research poll of likely Republican Primary Election voters in Virginia’s 7th Congressional District are about evenly split between Bryce Reeves and Yesli Vega, with Reeves winning 20.6% support, compared to 19.1% support for Vega.

The survey, conducted May 28-31, 2022, shows four other candidates lagging further back.

The poll was conducted via telephone with respondents in both landline households and mobile phone households. The split between landline and mobile phone interviews with respondents was roughly even. It carries a margin of error of +/- 4.12 percentage points. The Virginia Primary Election is June 21st.

Reeves enjoys a higher “favorability” rating of 48%, but his “unfavorability” rating of 22% is also significantly higher than that of Vega, the poll shows. Vega is seen favorably by 40% of primary voters, compared to 14% who have an unfavorably opinion of her. Vega’s superior favorable-to-unfavorable ratio is what brings the race into a near-dead heat.
